Background

International Literature Festival Dublin (ILFDublin) is Ireland’s premier literature festival which runs annually in May. It’s considered Ireland’s foremost literary event, featuring writers from Ireland and all over the world in readings, discussions, public interviews and debates.

Objective

ILFDublin purposes to continue establishing literary and literary inspired events in unique settings and venues with the aim of maximising existing and inspiring new audiences for great writing. After 2 digital editions due to the Covid pandemic, ILFDublin returned in May 2022 with a physical 25th anniversary edition, set at the new festival venue at Merrion Square Park.

Approach

Our aim was to develop a graphic language that reinforces the existing brand identity of ILFDublin and radiates a playful and lively feel to celebrate literature in general and especially the 25th anniversary of Irelands main and largest literary festival. We based our design concept on the ancient shape of the spiral, an important element in the Celtic cultural heritage.

Result

The ILF Dublin brand makes literature attractive, accessible, and understandable for all generations. A festival about passion made for passionate people.
