Grand Theatre is situated in a unique historical building in the heart of the southern town of Breda. The expressionist Art Deco building was constructed in 1919 and was used as a theatre and cinema until 2007. Early 2016, the building was transformed into a bookstore annex espresso bar annex lunchroom.

We were asked to develop a visual identity for the new bookstore and catering concept that would incorporate the rich history of the building.

The design concept was centred around the Art Deco style of the 1920’s. Breda’s coat of arms, visible on different spots in the building, was abstracted into the primary logo.
